That said I'm much more happy to be seeing SS3 someday over this this one. Before exiting the room, you will notice a camera hanging from the ceiling. This may make that more of a possibility. Plus I want to see more sequels to SS beyond SS3. I LOVE SS2 to death so I'm willing to see this through. So it's looking like more of SS2 gameplay take on the whole thing. Research system, new inventory management and a RPG leveling system? Yep those were all in SS2 and not SS1. One thing I will say is that from reading the stretch goals it does sound like they want to make System Shock 1 more like System Shock 2. Whilst in movie territory I've seen FAR MORE horrible remakes/reboots of some of my favorites growing up, but there has been a few good ones. Chances are that your going to hate it regardless (since the original set your mold of what that thing is), but you give it a chance to prove itself. Treat this as though your favorite movie of all time was getting a remake. Same went for me with Shadowrun Returns + it's expansions and other projects I've backed.Įnd of the day if it's bad we will always have the original version of SS1 to play via dosbox. For any project I back on Kickstarter I always want them to be the most fullest versions of them as can be. Now as to the stretch goals I hope it hits all of them. Don't usually go that high up, but this is System Shock afterall. In whatever form this ends up being I'll play it. Told you so :p (about this being a reboot and not a remake). I'm sure GMDX Dev will be happy to see that, but to me this indicates a willingess to go a little too far adrift of the original design. I'm not so sure about one of the stretch goals, though: Quote Posted by TwistI've backed it, of course. ![]()
